Longtime advocates of pediatric medicine, Art Samberg and his wife, Becky, launched the Samberg Scholars in Children’s Health program at New York-Presbyterian (NYP)/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in 2012. Thanks to an extremely generous $25 million grant from Becky and Art Samberg, up to 40 physician-scholars will be appointed over a five-year period. Funding provided by the Samberg Scholars program allows the hospital to attract and retain top talent in pediatric medicine or to devote resources to clinical research.
The inaugural group of Samberg Scholars in Children’s Health includes 10 physicians at NYP/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. To qualify for this appointment, each physician must be a pediatric specialist or subspecialist with recognized excellence in patient care, leadership, expertise, and other key qualities. Selected physicians specialize in a range of disciplines, including general pediatrics, urology, rheumatology, nephrology, and orthopedic surgery.
